So, I was idly channel surfing last night, and paused on My Best Friend’s Wedding, with Julia Roberts. I’ve never been a huge fan of the movie, because let’s face it, it’s no You’ve Got Mail or anything. BUT … there is one moment, where Rupert Everett starts singing the song ‘I Say A Little Prayer For You’ and the whole table joins in, and it is corny and ridiculous and wonderful. That musical moment transcends the otherwise mehness of the movie, and is always a favorite of mine to rewatch. So when I just happened to channel surf to this exact moment, I was like HOORAY!! And then I started thinking, what are some of my other favorite magical music movie moments that transcend and elevate the movies they’re in? Here’s my (entirely subjective) list so far:

“Tiny Dancer” – Almost Famous
“Bohemian Rhapsody” – Wayne’s World
“Day-O Banana Boat Song” – Beetlejuice
“Damn, It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta” – Office Space
